Notes on the Movie:"Pulp Fiction"

Pulp Fiction is an American black comedy film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. The film tells a few stories of criminal Los Angeles, in which the plot follows the robbers; philosophical conversations of two gangsters; saving a girl from a drug overdose and boxer, who was deceived. The film's title refers to the pulp magazines and hardboiled crime novels popular during the mid-20th century, known for their graphic violence and punchy dialogue.

Narrative structure

Pulp Fiction's narrative is told out of chronological order, and follows three main interrelated stories: Mob contract killerVincent Vega is the protagonist of the first story, prizefighter Butch Coolidge is the protagonist of the second, and Vincent's partner Jules Wifield is the protagonist of the third. The stories intersect in various ways.
